Shanghai Shopping: Sublime to Ridiculous

There are many of these Chinese Markets type places - where inside there might be hundreds of little shops...

This is a biggish one... I liked the red theme here..

Hair is big in Shanghai...

Some of the market areas are in old parts of Shanghai, where there is planning effort to rebuild replica facades of old buildings...

Some of this is striking. Very Chinese I guess.

In old walled area of Shanghai (now without the walls, which gave way to provide for new roads eventually...)

This is more of a touristy area of Shanghai. Most tourists - as on Great Wall - were form other provinces of China.

Interesting and fun though...

Nearby is this imposing and new facade. Entry to one of the most upmarket malls I came across in Shanghai...
