This photo is taken from my hotel room and aims to situate a reasonably big park that was nearby...
By the way this is my hotel room. It was in the Hengshan Picardie Hotel. About $120/night - inc a fantastic breakfast...
The park appears very well used. Has many different types of spaces.
It was Xujiahui Park - and was apparently constructed about ten years ago. According to the text on this sign-board a very large factory had occupied the site - a rubber factory (I can imagine how happy the residents were when it closed down...).
It was also the site of a French Cinema Projector manufacturer. The only sturctures that remain are the smokestack from the factory and a cluster of brick officers from the french factory. All carefully interpreted.
I like the use of massive rocks. And here a couple receive dancing lessons in the background - imitated by the boy in the foreground...
Another of the entry ways into the park...
...and again...
